Distribution – Throughout India, in wet places of Western Ghats.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A medium sized tree grows up to 15 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, or sub opposite, oblong-lanceolate, acute, or sometimes obtuse, glabrous, with prominent venation. Flowers unisexual, males in drooping cymes and female simple sessile. Fruits globose, yellow in ripe, with 4-8 compressed seeds.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, kapha, burning sensation, inflammations, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, diabetes, skin diseases, fever, leucorrhea, urinary tract infections, splenomegali, anemia, burns and scalds
Useful part : Bark, Leaves, Flowers, Fruits.
