Distribution – Throughout India, cultivated especially in Kerala.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A moderate sized deciduous tree grows up to 25 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, obovate, obtuse and shiny. Flowers yellow male and female flowers together in terminal inflorescence. Fruits green and grey when ripe attached in fleshy yellow colored enlarged pedicel.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, kapha, skin diseases, dysentery, hemorrhoids, anorexia, hair fall, worm infestation and general weakness.
Useful part : Roots, Leaves. Bark, Fruits
