Distribution – Cultivated throughout India, and growing wildly in Himalayan areas.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
An erect annual herb, grows up to 5 m in height. Leaves are palmately compound, 3-8 foliated, with long petiole; flowers unisexual, male in dhort drooping panicles, females in axillary spikes. Fruits achenes, seeds small and black colored.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pain, Insomnia, abdominal disorders, cough, insanity, erectile dysfunction, and inflammation. In any dose, all part of plant shows narcotic property.
Useful part : Dried leaf, Flowering shoot.
