PLANT DESCRIPTION
A highly branched, creping, perennial grass, rooting at every node; leaves smooth, narrow and linear; inflorescence terminal spikes, slender, green or purplish, floral glumes obliquely oblong; fruit grains, oblong, laterally compressed, about 1 mm long.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
The plant pacifies vitiated pitta, kapha, burning sensation, haematuria, wounds, conjunctivitis, headache, skin diseases, stomach problems and general debility.
