Distribution – Throughout India, especially on the rocky hills of Western Ghats.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A moderate sized tree grows up to 25 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, cordate or ovate, caudatee-acuminate, entire margins, with prominent veins, ovate lanceolate stipules. Receptacles globose found in clusters on stem, from the axils of fallen leaves. Male flower near the mouth of receptacle and female on base. Fruits achenes.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, skin diseases, pruritus, wounds, ulcers, diabetes, burning sensation, diarrhea, uterine disorders and inflammation.
Useful part : Bark.
