Distribution
– Growing naturally in moist evergreen forests in India, also as a garden plant.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
This is a tropical showy species grown in dense evergreen forests. This is a prostrate herb with rooting branches. Leaf opposite, broad, cordate and toothed, 6 to 10 cm long and sparkling silvery violet underneath red purple. Flowers pale white, solitary, terminal or sometimes axillary. Fruits small indehiscent pods, containing numerous small seeds. Reproduction is usually vegetative manner, by stem cuttings.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, fresh wound, cuts, ulcers, inflammation and in folk medicines, it is used internally for anemia.
Useful part : Leaf, or whole plant.
