Distribution – In hilly wet areas of Western Ghats especially at Travancore and Malabar areas of kerala.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A single leaved terrestrial orchid grows up to 15 cm in height, with round fleshy tubers. Leaves single, orbicular, with chordate base, wavy margins and long petioles. Flowers showy and purple colored. Reproduction usually by vegetative manner, through underground stolons.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, mental diseases, epilepsy, hemiplegia, diarrhea, asthma, cough and vomiting.
Useful part : Tubers, Leaves.
