PLANT DESCRIPTION
A small evergreen tree grows up to 15 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, rhomboid-elliptic, acute or acuminate, scabrid on both surfaces. Flowers unisexual, dioecious, very small, fruits one seeded succulent berries. Yellow when ripe, seeds smooth, round, greenish white.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated kapha, ulcer, inflammation, elephantiasis, cough, bronchitis, diarrhea, fever, and hemorrhoids. The rough surface of leaves is used for scratch treatment of alopecia.
