Distribution – Throughout India growing wild in costal areas.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A large evergreen tree grows up to 25 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, long petioled, cordate, entire, and acuminate. Flowers yellow, changes to purple slowly. Fruits globose brown capsules.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, skin diseases, hepatitis, jaundice, ulcers, wounds, psoriasis, scabies, urinary tract infections, diabetes, cholera, cough, asthma and guneaworm infections.
