Distribution – Cultivated in U.P, Bihar, Karnataka, and Tamilnadu states in India.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A peculiar odoured perennial herb with underground bulbs. Compound white bulb is enclosed by thin whitish scales; inside that several bulblets can be seen. Stem arises from the middle of bulblets and is covered with leaf sheath. Leaves simple, long flat; flowers are sterile small in umbel.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, kapha, cough, asthma, fever facial paralysis, colic, indigestion, ulcers, skin diseases, hypercholestremia, cardiac diseases, vitilligo, hemorrhoids, sciatica, arthritis, and as a general tonic.
Useful part : Bulb.
