Distribution – Cultivated in many parts of India, as a garden plant.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A perennial glabrous shrub grows up to 4 meters in height. Leaves bipinnate, leaflets small, ovoid, and up to 10-12 pairs of leaflets. Flowers arise from terminal or axillary panicles, red or yellow colored and showy. Fruits 4 – 6 seeded dehiscent pods. Seeds oval, brown and compressed.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated kapha, pitta, fever, jaundice, colic, flatulence, malignant tumors. It is a proven anti-cancerous drug. In overdose, it shows toxic symptoms.
Useful part : Root, leaves, Seeds.
