Distribution – Throughout the dense evergreen forests in India, especially in Western Ghats.
PLANT DESCRIPTION
A small perennial fern grows up to 30 cm in height. Rhizome erect or short creeping, densely covered by scales. Lamina simple, dimorphic and cordirom, fertile ones are deltoid, trilobed, entire and densely scaly. Sory continuous along the veins and fills the entire surface of the lamina when mature.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, ear ache, intestinal worms, hemorrhoids, arthritis and in veterinary medicine, it is used to cure fever and cold in dogs. It is commonly used as an adulterant for the plant Merremia tridentata
