Distribution – Growing naturally in the evergreen forests of Western Ghats.

PLANT DESCRIPTION

A moderate to large sized evergreen tree grows up to 30 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, ovate-lanceolate, acute or obtuse, shiny; flowers small, greenish yellow, in sub terminal spikes. Fruits are globose drupes, about 2 cm in diameter, contain single round seed.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

Plant pacifies vitiated vata, kapha, cough, asthma, consumption, arthritis, traumatic injury, edema, and wounds.
Useful part : Leaves, Bark.
