Distribution – Found throughout Western Ghats; especially Konkan areas.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
A moderate to large sized evergreen tree grows up to 40 meters in height. Leaves simple, opposite, ovate, acute and shining; flowers unisexual, found in separate tree, fruits red, ovoid, smooth, containing 6-8 seeds, covered with whitish sweet pulp.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, kapha, obesity, hypercholestremia, diarrhea, colic, ulcers, inflammations, over perspiration and hyper perspiration
