PLANT DESCRIPTION
A perennial climber with tuberous roots and succulent stems; leaves ovate acute, oblong-lanceolate, cordate at base, toothed with reticulate venation. Flowers small, yellow, dioecious, males in umbellate racemes and females solitary; fruits oblong, brown, bright red when ripe, seeds many, smooth.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated kapha vata, anorexia, dyspepsia, colic, asthma, cough, renal calculi, urinary retention, hemorrhoids, splenomegaly and constipation.
Useful part : Tuberous root, Leaves, Seeds.
